Edward F. Groden, FCA, ASA, EA, MAAA is the Executive Director for the New England Teamsters & Trucking Industry Pension Fund. Edward joined the Pension Fund in 2004, and in this capacity, he serves as the Chief Executive, Financial and Investment Officer and Actuary, as well as managing the Fund Office staff. Externally, he coordinates the activities of the Pension Fund’s outside advisors who provide legal, actuarial, accounting, investment and other services. Internally, he supports the local unions, contributing employers and their designated agents in contract negotiations and conformity with federal statues and Pension Fund requirements. Prior to joining the Pension Fund, Edward worked for 22 years in the Boston Office of Watson Wyatt Worldwide as a senior consulting actuary in the retirement practice with expertise in a wide variety of all aspects of retirement programs, especially multiemployer pension plans, qualified and non-qualified retirement programs. Edward has expertise in retirement plan design, governance, funding vehicles, and compliance. He is also experienced in assisting deferred compensation professionals in navigating the often competing interests of pension plan participants, plan sponsors, regulatory compliance and professional standards. Edward is a Fellow in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
